The Journey is Within

How many times throughout each day do we contemplate life’s meaning, wondering the “why” of it all? Some days our answers flow through like the breath so naturally absorbed within us and then at other times we struggle for that very breath that sustains life. Throughout the years of searching, the peace I have obtained, the inner calm and serenity that God has graced me with, has come through the work that I teach. How grateful am I that God has granted me this work! Each time I come in contact with a soul who God uses me to assist, I realize how blessed I am to operate in this capacity during my lifetime. So why have I continued to search for the ultimate teacher in this lifetime, when quite clearly the ultimate teacher is available through my own inner connection to God, the inner teacher and the vast array of masters and teachers connected through this inner connection of “Self”.

 

My recent journey to India in search of a teacher that might guide me further in my own search for enlightenment provided me with a lesson that still is unfolding. In these last 12 years of my search I have been lead to many self-proclaimed enlightened beings. In each the imperfection of humanity has been revealed and the echo of the Ancient of Days reverberates in my ears…”the journey is within my dear”. Each great Master that I have encountered has already passed and the hallmark of their journey was the humility of not proclaiming who they were or what they achieved. While alive they did the work, with those around them knowing they were in the presence of greatness and proclaiming much about them, but their humility and love kept them focused on their great role, never to proclaim anything more than God’s love for each of us.

 

How many of Gods children must walk this path of hard lessons to understand and know the final steps of the journey are your own, that no one can take you there. Each organization I have joined has a disclaimer somewhere in their by-laws that you will find no guru, no self-proclaimed leader or member that holds power over another or must be blindly followed. The teachings caution you against the self-proclaimed masters, yet walk I did into that illusion over and over again, in hopes of finding someone that could guide me on the lonely journey better than the God connection I had within…how silly of me. I would sit in dismay, thinking “but my discernment and discrimination are strong” with the force of the mind in tow, and then the inner teacher’s small quiet voice would say “ahhh so far still to go”. The lesson of humility and integrity the greatest teacher of them all…God is so wise!

 

A teacher is essential for most on the journey as they frame up your entry into your inner work, but only you can walk through the door. Grateful am I that I have had the pleasure of assisting so many to walk through the doorway past the Guardian on the Threshold. I am so thrilled and so humbled to be an instrument of his work, and grateful for every lesson brought to me on my path.

 

My journey through Daath showed me that each and every one of us is vulnerable to misperceptions of self, no matter how advanced we may be, as long as we are in the physical plane our companion of “self” is essential to our growth, and while the “Self” is always present our connection is always for a limited amount of time and space and while each subsequent connection lasts longer and longer, our ability to function with that much energy within us must be earned and that each journey of the Fool into the valley of experience is a necessary part of our growth and expansion that permits us to handle an even longer connection to “Self”. Each step on the path grows our consciousness and permits an ever greater connection to the One. I encourage each of you to continue to step off the cliff with the ever present companion of your faith and walk the journey of the “Fool”. Will there be bumps and bruises along the way? Yes, inevitably, but you will learn how to fall and how to pick yourself up with Grace and the humility you will gain will be the key to your expansion.
