Becoming Human

  

Manly Hall spoke of this in his writing. He stated that “One cause of disillusionment is for the metaphysical teacher to prove to be more human than originally suspected” “The tendency is to so elevate personalities that we endow them with sacred powers. All our faith is put upon them as we hang tinsel on a Christmas tree. The leader is assumed infallible, whereas he (or she) is no more than one who is well meaning, quite capable of contributing to the improvement of humanity, but still personally subject to innumerable ills. Doing the best he can, he is a good human being, but a poor divinity. Human beings, experience has proved, make better humans than they do gods. We should be willing to accept a person who has wisdom as a friend, not deify him; it just won’t hold up.”

How true is this statement? Completely, and it is one that each aspirant should hold close to their heart for quick reference. Each person on the planet that is human is here for that very human experience called spiritual evolution. The ignorant and the wise, student and teacher, aspirant and master, all have the same journey. There are five levels of spiritual evolution going on in our physical world. The first is mineral, the second is plant, the third is animal, the fourth is man and the fifth is Spiritual Man. It is this final journey in this physical world that you have set your foot upon. So many times I will sense a student beginning to place me upon a pedestal and I admit, it is a wonderful feeling to be effective in lighting up another on this journey, but I must always place myself in check always, else God will. Knowledge can be powerful, but wisdom always shows you how much you do not know and to use the power of knowledge carefully. Please keep this mind on your journey, it will serve you well.
