Divine Inheritance

 How often I tell students that they are entitled to their Divine Inheritance and how often they balk at my statement because of their lack of understanding of what God intends for us. I am told “isn’t it selfish to have desires” or “sure, but then why does God allow us to suffer and have pain”. All of these response are laced with the faulty thoughts and toxic emotions embedded into our subconscious from lifetimes of unconscious thinking. The resistance we encounter to positive thinking is stored at a cellular level within us. Have you ever wondered why it is that we get sick, grow old and die when our entire body’s cellular structure is completely renewed every 7 years? If our cellular structure renews every 7 years, then we should be rejuvenated and completely healthy, but this is not the case. The fact is our thoughts, which create our patterns, penetrate our cell structure and embed in our DNA resulting in a toxic waste dump that delivers to us our illness and dis-ease. The only true way to achieve a gloriously blessed life is through the process of Self-discovery.

 

However, the journey of Self-discovery is a difficult one and one that only a small part of the human population is ready to pursue. I remember the first time I heard a teacher talk about this, I thought to myself, but aren’t these teachings for everyone? The answer is, of course they are, but only when they are ready. Our pursuit of our Divine Inheritance has many gotcha’s built in, you might even say they are traps, traps that serve to expose our weaknesses and self-deception that we must uncover and transmute else we prove we are not ready for the journey. When we are not ready our response to these traps is arrogance and pride and a desire to shoot down anyone who threatens our truth. In fact, people get downright nasty when confronted with the Truth when they are not ready to hear it. The golden rule for the spiritual seeker or initiate is “silence”, the world really does belong to those who know when to listen and when to speak. In the ancient mystery schools, students were often not permitted to speak or ask questions of their teachers until their studies were underway for many years.

 

The fact is we are very ignorant when we first begin the journey. We are searching and seeking and our appetite is voracious, but we do not use the power of discernment, discrimination or concentration to harness our appetite, as a result we often over consume the knowledge we are seeking and jump into many different aspects of the teaching, using our instincts and rational mind to determine what we need, versus our reasoning and intuition. Oh the trouble we get into, judging, controlling, and planting inappropriate seeds in the minds of those that know no better. And when we encounter those that are ahead of us on the Path, they simply smile and remain quiet knowing the journey that lies ahead and they pray that we make it holding the Lantern of Light over the path in hopes that we are attracted to it. No direct engagement will be given by one who knows, they allow the Light to be the magnet and when the right question is asked the door is open.

 

When students first come to me, they have all kinds of ideas as to what they think they need, in reality our Divine Inheritance is made up of one thing, the removal of the shackles of the personality, in other words the liberation of the soul within our physical body. When this is accomplished, the flow of abundance, spiritual and material, flows unceasingly. What we thought we needed at the beginning of our journey has changed radically and we become more comfortable in allowing God to deliver us our inheritance. For you see when the shackles are removed from the personality we become united in God, our True Self will only accept direction from the Spiritual Sun and no error can be made. We become compassionately detached to the craziness of the physical world and understand the rhythm and process of each souls unfolding and we allow them their journey, knowing that by interfering we delay them and absorb negative karma as a result.

 

Trust God and attach all life’s events to God and you cannot lose. It is a tried and true formula that I invite you to try out.
